Recently designed and constructed in Old Town Orcutt, based upon the 1919 Union Mercantile building that was once located on the same block. This 6,722 square foot design-build project replicates the historical character of that building, while incorporating edgy, reused materials, including reclaimed bar wood and scrapyard metal wall panels. The first floor houses two retail/service spaces, two offices and restrooms. An elevator from the ground floor lobby to the second floor opens into a reception area that features a custom-built receptionist desk with reclaimed barn wood as its backdrop and a rustic concrete top with embedded antique cogs. Second floor highlights include an open floor plan with exposed ductwork, custom lighting and partitions, and a large arched window that showcases the Santa Maria Valley. A smaller conference room completes the second floor.
